NUTRITION
Nutrition programmes
bring so much relief to impoverished
children.
Children are less likely to become sick and there is a huge decrease in
the rate of stomach and headaches. Even more seriously, however, is the
fact that even mild or moderate malnitrition is attrributable to the
exacerbation of otherwise minor health problems. Malnutrition often
joins forces with common infectious diseases to create a deadly
combination. The fact that around 33% of Cambodia’s population suffer
from malnutrition makes a nutrition programme necessary especially in
under developed schools. Another reason why we include a nutrition
programme is that it provides a big incentive for impoverished families
to send their children to school, hence increasing the enrolment rate
at the school.
